20 Photos to Inspire You to Visit Washington

Washington has beautiful and diverse landscapes in its three national parks. Olympic National Park has rainforests and beaches, North Cascades National Park has alpine lakes and jagged mountain peaks, and Mount Rainier National Park has waterfalls, wildflowers, and the 17th tallest peak in the United States. Washington’s national parks have something for everyone!

Fun Facts:

Washington has five active volcanoes, Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens, and Glacier Peak. The latest eruption was from Mount St. Helens in 1980!
Olympic National Park is home to four rainforests! The Hoh Rainforest used to be a part of a huge rainforest that spanned from California to Alaska.
North Cascades National Park is the listed visited national park in Washington, with less than a million visitors per year.
Olympic National Park, on the other hand, is the most visited national park in Washington, with over three million visitors per year.
Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the lower 48, with 25 named glaciers on its mountainside!

Alex and I traveled to Washington in August 2020 for our honeymoon and lived out of a campervan while completing an epic week-long road trip through Washington’s national parks. We have mountains in New England, but they do not compare to the incredible and huge mountains in Washington. We were in awe of how beautiful the mountain ranges were in Washington and immediately fell in love. Olympic National Park has an incredible rainforest and beautiful beaches. North Cascades National Park has amazing hiking trails with beautiful views. Mount Rainier National Park has the epic Mount Rainier and beautiful wildflowers along every hiking trail. We loved the time we spent exploring Washington’s national parks and cannot wait to return to the west coast!
