The domes are in the small town of Selfoss, just south of Reykjavik, and are. the perfect base camps if you want to explore everything the southeast coast of Iceland offers, including waterfalls, glaciers, and black sand beaches.

Golden Circle Domes offers a luxury glamping experience, and as soon as you walk into one of the domes, you will forget you are glamping! Each dome has everything you need for your stay, including a comfortable bed, kitchenette, and private bathroom.

They also have stunning views of the surrounding landscape and are in a quiet area, so you might be able to see the northern lights! Golden Circle Domes also has a restaurant on-site with delicious food, which is a bonus! If you want a unique place to stay that is not too far from the city, Golden Circle Domes is for you!

The 5 Million Star Hotel

Both are not too far from the Golden Circle, so they are perfect base camps for any adventure in Iceland.

The 5 Million Star Hotel has transparent bubbles you can stay in for a unique glamping experience. Each bubble only has a bed that sleeps two adults, but do not let the lack of amenities deter you from staying here! The bubbles are completely transparent, giving you one of the best opportunities to see the northern lights right from your bed.

They are also in small forests, which are rare in Iceland! If you want to stay in a unique accommodation in Iceland that allows you to see an amazing sky full of stars or the northern lights, The 5 Million Star Hotel is perfect!

Camp Boutique

Camp Boutique is a beautiful tent hotel just south of Reykjavik along the coast. The hotel has glamping tents in a large field, with only farms for miles. It is an incredibly peaceful location and perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Although it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, Camp Boutique is near many of the must-see attractions along the south coast of Iceland!

Camp Boutique has two types of tents you can rent. The first is the smaller of the two tents and is perfect for two people, and the second is large enough to fit up to four people. Both tents have comfortable beds, heaters, lounge areas, and access to shared bathrooms with showers. Original North

Original North is in the northern section of Iceland and has unique places to stay! Although it is further from Reykjavik than other accommodations on this list, it does not lack things to do and is near many beautiful and lesser-visited areas.

Similar to Camp Boutique, Original North has two types of glamping tents available. Both have comfortable beds, heaters, lounge areas, and access to a shared bathroom with showers. The tents are in a large field along a glacial river with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

It is one of my favorite places because of how remote it feels! If you are visiting the northeast part of Iceland, Original North is the perfect place to stay during your trip!

Náttúra Yurtel

Hvammstangi Cottages

Sky sighting Iglúhús is one of the most unique places to stay in Iceland on this list and is perfect if you are looking for a quiet glamping experience. It is in the northern fjords of Iceland and near many must-see attractions on the northeast coast.

There is one dome on the property with everything you need, including a bed, toaster, coffee maker, and small bathroom with a toilet in a shed next to it. The best part about Sky sighting Iglúhús is the views. The dome sits on a beautiful property in the fjords and has breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

And last but certainly not least, we have another unique place to stay just north of Reykjavik. The Fossatun Camping Pods are the perfect place to stay if you want an elevated, no-frills camping experience. The pods only have beds, a mini fridge, and a shared kitchen and bathroom.

You have to either bring your own linens or sleeping bags or request them from the resort. These pods are far from a city but have an on-site restaurant offering breakfast and dinner, which is nice. The Fossatun Camping Pods are truly a no-frills accommodation, but they are perfect for every budget if you want a camping experience!
